Frequently Asked Questions

We want to provide answers to the most commonly asked questions. This information is provided strictly as a service to the general community and is not intended to replace professional advice. We encourage you to consult with your own physician regarding your specific medical condition.

How can I reach my physician if I have any emergency at night or on weekends?
Call our regular phone number – (772) 219-1080 or (800) 666-1667 – your call will be connected to our 24-hour answering service. There is always a physician on-call to handle urgent matters. We do not refill medicines after hours.

I am pregnant. Is it necessary for me to see all of the physicians during my pregnancy?
No, you may choose one obstetrician to provide most of your prenatal care. When you deliver, the physician or midwife on-call will take care of you, unless you have made other arrangements with your primary obstetrician or midwife.

I just starting taking birth control pills and I’m bleeding before its time for my period. Why is this happening?
It can take up to three menstrual cycles of new oral contraceptives for your cycles to regulate. It is important that you continue taking the pills and use a back-up method of birth control while you are bleeding. Keep track of where in the pill package you are bleeding so that if the problem continues, your physician knows how to adjust your medication for you.

Is it normal to have break through bleeding when you first start on hormone replacement therapy?
Yes, break through bleeding can occur anywhere from 3 to 6 months after initiating treatment with hormone replacement therapy. It takes time for your body to adjust to the level of hormones in the pills. If you experience heavy menstrual period-like bleeding you should notify your physician. Always call with any questions or concerns regarding your health.

What should I do if I am taking birth control pills and I don’t get my period?
If you have not missed taking any birth control pills, take a home pregnancy test. If the test is negative, resume taking your birth control pills with the next package. If you do not have a period the next month, consult your physician for a possible change in prescription.

Will you submit a claim to my insurance company if you are not participating providers with my insurance company?
Yes, we will be happy to. Depending on your insurance, you will be asked to pay for a portion or all of your services at the time of your visit. We will submit a claim to your insurance company on your behalf. They will reimburse you based on your specific benefit levels.
